Nicholas Collins-Feay, PA-C (Not Accepting New Patients)

Nicholas Collins-Feay, PA-C, is a family practice Physician Assistant who grew up calling the Pacific Northwest home. He obtained an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. His PA studies were through the University of Washington’s MEDEX Northwest PA program. He has medical interest in men’s health, cardiology, orthopedics, wilderness medicine, infectious diseases, and community health.

He strongly believes that the kidney is the most interesting organ. He enjoys learning about new cultures, and enjoys practicing his Spanish.

Medical Interests
He has medical interests in health wellness and prevention across the lifespan including women, men, and adolescents, chronic condition management, community medicine and family planning, infectious diseases, urgent and emergent care, and wilderness & outdoor medicine.
 

Getting to know Nicholas
I chose family medicine, primarily because it is the last remaining field in medicine where you truly develop a relationship with patients to live healthier lives. As medicine has become more and more specialized, too often you will ask a question and that specialist will dodge or evade, because whatever that problem may be doesn’t fit into their small little medical area of expertise. Family medicine is different – we take all comers, with all questions and concerns. I went into family medicine because of “the doorknob question.” The questions that come when I’m halfway out the door and someone feels comfortable enough to say, “also I was wondering if I could ask you about…” –Too often when you meet with a specialist, if you ask that question, the answer will be “you should ask your PCP about that.” I got into family medicine because I love the relationships you build through being charged with the overall health of an individual, not just a specific rash, sprain, or illness. 

Medicine is constantly changing. When I began my search for a clinic to call home, I wanted to work at a practice that not only new how to navigate those challenging and changing landscapes, but one that embraced them. CVCH is a mission driven organization; and within that mission is that we strive toward excellence – that we are a leader in our field. At CVCH I feel confident that we will continue to be at the forefront of healthcare for the foreseeable future. Put that environment in a beautiful setting on the edge of the mountains? Sold.

As a native Washingtonian, I’ve always loved the outdoors. You can find me on my bike(s), hiking or climbing, or heading up to Mission Ridge in the winter. I also really enjoy projects around the house – my wife and I are preparing our home for our first child, and It’s been incredibly fun working and improving our home to ensure we are ready.
