Aura Sanderson is a Physician Assistant and has been working at our Chelan clinic since 2005.

Aura Sanderson is a board certified Physician Assistant from Chelan, Washington. Aura completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology at Eastern Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies through MEDEX Northwest at the University of Washington. Aura joined Columbia Valley Community Health in 2005, has worked in both Chelan and Wenatchee, and enjoys the unique dynamics of serving in community health. Aura speaks English and some Spanish, and is placing increased focus to the integration of complementary and alternative medicine and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques for improved health and wellness of the patients she cares for. At home Aura enjoys time with her husband and family, trail running with her two dogs, yoga, hiking and the myriad of year round outdoor adventure and activities this beautiful area has to offer.

Aura says she enjoys the positive, casual, genuine, enjoyable patient-provider relationships she forms at CVCH. "I like feeling that I am helping people who are in greatest need. I personally am looking to expand a more integrative approach to practice-patient management."

Hobbies: Hiking, trail running with her dogs, water activities and yoga

What is your philosophy of care?
"I want to change the patient expectation of a prescriptive medication for everything. I want to help improve healthcare literacy and help patients build improved participation in preventive measures and confidence in conservative self care measures, such as the body being able to heal itself."

How do you define quality healthcare?
"Integrity, compassion, kindness, intelligent, thoughtful, meaningful and effective practice."
