Tobe Harberd, MD

Tobe Harberd, MD was born and raised on a cattle ranch in the rural town of Weiser, Idaho. He attended Washington State University for undergraduate studies and then obtained his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine through the WWAMI program. Tobe then travelled to Greeley, Colorado where he completed residency at North Colorado Family Medicine. His wife and he returned to the pacific northwest in 2009 and he has practiced in Chelan since that time. Tobe enjoys practicing full spectrum rural family medicine with special interests in surgical obstetrics and endoscopy/colonoscopy. 

He enjoys teaching medical students and is currently a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Tobe serves as the Chelan site director for TRUST, which is a longitudinal program with a rural/underserved focus. He was drawn to CVCH by the opportunity to participate in the newly established residency rural training track. Tobe feels that this is a unique, local opportunity to train rural family physicians who will then ideally care for future generations of our community.

In his free time, Tobe enjoys spending time with his wife Mikaila and their two children Ruby and Oliver. He enjoys running, boating, downhill skiing and leisure reading.

Dr. John Anderson Memorial Award for Outstanding Rural Health Practitioner from the Washington Rural Health Association in 2018.
