Biography:

Courtney Spencer (Courtney Jones), Psy.D. is a post-doctoral resident and Behavioral Health Consultant. She was born and raised in Florida and joined the United States Navy upon graduating High School. During her time in the military she completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Maryland University College Adelphi online campus. After 7 years of a successful career in the military, she honorably discharged to pursue higher education. In 2018 she relocated to Newberg Orgon to attend George Fox University’s graduate school of clinical psychology where she focused on interdisciplinary/primary care model. During Courtney’s clinical training and internship, she provided cognitive behavioral therapy, substance abuse therapy, presurgical consults, and emergency crisis consults. Courtney has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and couples with a variety of presenting problems. She has also provided primary care level assessments and neuropsychological assessments within her clinical training. Courtney’s passion in this field is based on providing access to care without stigma and with as few barriers as possible for diverse populations and communities to increase health equity. 

 

Personal areas of Interest: Courtney has special interests in ADHD, bipolar, dementias/cognitive changes, psychosis, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, personality disorders, psychopharmacology, and health psychology.

Hobbies: Courtney enjoys reading, outdoor running, off-roading, and spending time with her family.
