Partnership with CVCH

Share

You may have heard about our partnership with Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) so we felt we should provide you with information about this change. Below you will find answers to the most common questions we have been asked. If you have further questions, feel free to contact us at 663-8767, or you can contact Manuel Navarro, CVCH Clinic Administrator at 682-6193. Thank you for being our patient and we look forward to serving your family for years to come.

Will your location change with your recent merger with CVCH?

No, we will remain at our current location.

Will there be any changes in your staff?

Your child will have the same pediatrician, however with Dr. Cook retiring, we are recruiting another provider to take his place. If your child currently sees Dr. Cook, you will be cared for by one of our providers until the new provider joins the team. Our friendly staff will also remain here at Columbia Pediatrics. One exciting benefit about joining CVCH is that your child and your family will now have access to an integrated care system.

What is an integrated care system?

An integrated care system is a one-stop shop that involves teamwork with medical, behavioral and dental providers to make sure your child gets the very best care.

Will you offer the same services?

All services we provide will remain the same however you will also have access to services in Dental, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy (after April 1, 2018), WIC, Midwifery and Primary Care at CVCH locations throughout the region.

Will you be changing your name?

Our name will remain Columbia Pediatrics.

Will there be any issues in accepting my insurance?

Your insurance will still be accepted. Any services after January 2, 2018 will be billed from CVCH. You may receive a separate statement from Columbia Pediatrics from visits prior to January 2, 2018.

As you may have heard, both CHPW and United Health Care Apple Health insurances will no longer be accepted in Chelan and Douglas counties effective December 31, 2017. If you have one of those insurance plans, please see us so we can switch you to a plan that is accepted in our region.

What are advantages of joining CVCH?

CVCH offers many benefits including discounts on pharmaceuticals (after April 1, 2018), insurance enrollment services, a sliding fee discount program for those without insurance, as well as all the clinical services mentioned above. In addition, we will have an electronic health record which means that you will be able to enroll in a portal to communicate with your provider, schedule appointments, review immunization history and lab results, and many other benefits.

What will be different?

Part of the mission of CVCH is to serve underserved and vulnerable populations, and for that reason we will be collecting information about such issues from all patients. Please anticipate questions about your income, type of housing, and whether you work in agriculture. In addition, you will see computers in the exam room.

It sounds like joining the CVCH family is a positive thing. Am I missing anything?

No, you are exactly right. We also think this merger is a pretty great change. You will still receive the same excellent care that you do now, however you will have access to more programs and more payment options than you have in the past.
