Tuesday, November 15, 2016: Wenatchee, WA: On November 28, Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) will begin providing medical services for the student body and employees of Wenatchee Valley College (WVC). This new health clinic will be housed on the WVC campus in the Van Tassell Center, located at 1300 Fifth Street in Wenatchee. The community health center will provide primary medical care as well as urgent care services at this new location on Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 12 – 5pm and on Tuesday’s from 2 – 7pm.
Carol Diede, Chief Operating Officer at CVCH, said opening a health center on the WVC campus was a natural next step, based on the partnership that the two organizations have forged around their healthcare training programs.
“CVCH’s commitment to teaching the next generation of healthcare staff and providers has resulted in a long-term partnership with the college,” Diede said. “Many of the students juggle school and work responsibilities. Having an accessible health care clinic on campus removes barriers to care, resulting in earlier treatment and increased preventative care. When students are healthier, their friends and families stay healthier and the entire community benefits.”
The clinic will be staffed three days a week by a family nurse practitioner and a medical assistant. Most insurance plans will be accepted, and services will be available to WVC students and employees by appointments or on a walk-in basis.
