Breaking Ground at Site of New Chelan Health Clinic

Columbia Valley Community Health is holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, August 19 at 8am at the site of its future health clinic in Chelan. This new 17,000 square foot clinic will be located in the Apple Acres area on the corner of US Hwy 97A and South Apple Blossom Drive.  Congressman Reichert and Chelan dignitaries are slated to attend this brief event.

Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) currently has a Chelan clinic located at 317 E. Johnson Ave, where it has been offering medical, dental, behavioral health and WIC services since 2002. Chelan Clinic Administrator Manuel Navarro says an increase in the demand for health care in the Chelan Valley has driven the federally qualified health center to expand.

The new facility, slated to open in July 2017, will address critical deficiencies of the current Chelan site which include lack of medical exam room space, inefficient layout, poor accessibility and visibility, and an overall lack of space to meet the growing needs of the population.  In addition to doubling the number of medical exam rooms, it will allow for an estimated increase in access to primary care services for 1,800 new patients.

The three-acre site will be heavily landscaped with native plants commonly seen in the area and will include walking paths for both patients and community members to enjoy.  CVCH is working with Beyer Architects and MJ Neal Associates on this project.
