Biography:
Kaityn Schmitten, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker joining the Behavioral Medicine Consultant Team at CVCH, serving patients in Wenatchee and Chelan. A Wenatchee Valley native from Peshastin, she earned her Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University and brings 20 years of experience across community, school, and medical settings, including nonprofit work, school-based program development, mental health therapy, and medical social work.
Katie specializes in complex and chronic trauma, PTSD, addiction, grief and loss, mood and anxiety disorders, emotion dysregulation, relational challenges, and life transitions. In behavioral medicine, she focuses on the connection between emotional and physical health, supporting patients with stress-related conditions and chronic illness adjustment. She welcomes working with individuals of all backgrounds and demographics; she practices from a person-centered, and strength-based approach, while utilizing evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions tailored to each patient’s needs. While not fluent in Spanish, she has participated in Spanish-immersion programs to strengthen her communication skills. She is passionate about CVCH’s mission to serve marginalized communities and is honored to join a respected, collaborative team.

Hobbies: (“What I do for fun”): Outside of work, Kaityn enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, hiking, camping, skiing, horseback riding, reading, and creating art through mediums such as charcoal, painting, and macramé.
