Biography:
Anthony is a 5th-year doctoral candidate of clinical psychology in the PAU-Stanford PsyD Consortium. He previously graduated with a BA in psychology from California State University, Northridge and an MS in clinical psychology from PAU-Stanford. As a Mexican American and child of immigrants, Anthony speaks fluent Spanish and is passionate about bringing a culturally responsive framework to therapy. His experience has brought him to work with immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent patients, across all ages.
Professional areas of Interest:
Anthony is interested in acceptance and commitment therapy, empowering patients to embrace their emotions and live a value-based life. Additionally, his work often features systems theory, which looks at the role that family, community, and other important relationships play in one’s life. He believes in centering patients’ cultural values and approaching therapy through a collaborative lens, which he discusses in his dissertation on international therapy.

Anthony enjoys nature, volunteering, and spending time with family. He spends his free time reading, praying, and playing video games.
Why did you choose to do your internship at CVCH?
Anthony chose to come to CVCH due to its commitment to providing accessible and affordable care to a diverse community using an integrated health framework. He is excited to use his time here providing culturally-responsive, holistic care in an interdisciplinary setting.
