Anna Edelman, PhD (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Psychologist and Behavioral Medicine Consultant here at CVCH in our Behavioral Medicine department. Dr. Edelman earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2009, her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans in 2015, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2021 from the University of Denver.
Dr. Edelman works with individuals and families across the lifespan. Her clinical work and research have focused on what makes therapy “work” for different people. She utilizes a whole-person approach to treatment, recognizing that every person has internal wisdom and the capacity for growth; but at times life can make it difficult to connect with these parts of ourselves. Treatment with Dr. Edelman can be as simple as a single visit to focus on an isolated concern but can also include a variety of therapeutic orientations which support her patients in gaining insight into their internal world as well as empower her patients to manage the inevitable stressors of life. Dr. Edelman is also trained in and provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to patients based on her availability and case load. She strives to provide culturally humble, holistic care to her patients with a particular focus on reducing health inequity for underserved populations.
