Would you love to have a garden of your own, but don’t have the space? If so, consider planting in the Eastmont Community Garden. The Eastmont Community Garden is located beside CVCH Express Care Clinic on the corner of 9th and Eastmont Ave in East Wenatchee. This a cooperative effort between Columbia Valley Community Health and the WSU Chelan County Master Gardeners.
The Master Gardeners are looking for interested individuals and families to fill the garden beds. Each garden plot is available for a fee of $25, which offsets the garden tilling and other costs. The 20’ x 20’ plots will be filled on a first come, first served basis but there are plenty of plots available right now. The Eastmont Community Garden will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. WSU Master Gardener volunteers will be at the garden on Tuesday evenings from 5 - 8pm to provide education, answer questions and coach beginning gardeners. If you or someone you know is interested, click here to download the Garden Plot Contract. Email the completed contract to firstname.lastname@example.org. The master gardeners will contact you to arrange for your plot. They would like to have the plots planted by Saturday, June 1.
The garden is open to all community members and it is our hope that many of the gardeners will be CVCH patients and employees. Please share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested.
The goals for the Eastmont Community Garden are food, family, health and fun while providing multiple benefits to local families – all of whom both organizations are dedicated to serving.
