Nyssa Petersen-Ventura, PhD, GMHS

Dr. Nyssa Petersen Ventura is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Geriatric Mental Health Specialist (GMHS) and is located primarily at the Adult Behavioral Health clinic in East Wenatchee.

Graduate School: M.A., Clinical Psychology, Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University
Post-graduate: Ph.D., Clinical Psychology, Biola University

She provides individual, family, and group therapy services for adults and psychological testing for children through older adults. Additionally, she cofacilitates a health management group with the diabetes and nutrition providers at the Primary Care clinic in Wenatchee and also assists as a clinical supervisor for the Behavioral Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. 

Dr. Ventura completed her doctoral psychology internship in Behavioral Medicine from Columbia Valley Community Health, and completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area but lived in Southern California for several years to attend college and graduate school. Dr. Ventura completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Biola University.  

Dr. Ventura has experience with a variety of populations from children to adults in outpatient, inpatient, medical, research, and school settings providing individual, couples, and group therapy, psychological testing, neuropsychological assessments, crisis intervention, case management, and clinical consultation. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her clinical interests include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, cognitive impairments, health psychology, mood disorders, psychopharmacology, severe mental illness, and socioemotional development.
